Welcome to “Milk Moves of the Week” sponsored by Refuel With Chocolate Milk from the American Dairy Association North East! Outstanding athletic performance is evidence of practice, superior physical conditioning and good nutrition. Each week, we share a rundown from around the state of the top “Milk Moves” of the week as nominated by our member schools, coaches, media partners, and fans. No matter the sport, we want to share the accomplishments of NYSPHSAA student-athletes!

Boys Indoor Track & Field: Nicholas Bernard (Scarsdale), finished the 600m in 1:21.38, setting a new personal record and best in the state so far at the Section I Class A Championships.

Girls Indoor Track & Field: Alissa Braxton (Commack), jumped 19’0.25 setting a new personal record and best in the state so far at the Section XI Girls Large School Championships.

Boys Swimming & Diving: Andy Lee (Great Neck South) finished the 200 freestyle with a time of 21.00, hitting a state-qualifying time and setting the best time in the state so far this season.

Girls Basketball: Sara Pfeiffer (Olean) scored a school-record 63 points, including 13 3-pointers, in a win against Maple Grove.

Wrestling: Stevo Poulin (Shenendehowa) pinned his opponent in 19 seconds into the 106lb match in the Section 2 Class A Tournament Championship.

Boys Ice Hockey: Jack Shapiro (Rye Town/Harrison) tallied six goals in a big win over Horace Greeley

Boys Basketball: Luke Van Slyke (Canajoharie) racked up a double-double with 33 points and 16 rebounds in a win over Dolgeville.
