Welcome to the latest edition of “Milk Moves of the Week” sponsored by Refuel With Chocolate Milk from the American Dairy Association North East! Outstanding athletic performance is evidence of practice, superior physical conditioning and good nutrition. Each week, we share a rundown from around the state of the top “Milk Moves” of the week as nominated by our member schools, coaches, media partners, and fans. No matter the sport, we want to share the accomplishments of NYSPHSAA student-athletes!

Girls Basketball:  Maria Baker (Bolton) scored 31 points in a win against Lake Placid to reach the 1,000-point milestone in her high school career

Wrestling: Mason Cooper (Cobleskill-Richmondville) sealed the deal with a 40-second pin in a nail-biter against Tamarac to secure the title 48-39 and send the Bulldogs to the state dual meet championships

Boys Track & Field: Jayden DuBard (Cheektowaga) set a personal record in the 12-lb Shotput event at the Jerome Fields Open with a stellar 57’ 11.75” attempt

Boys Basketball: Zechariah Harris-Scott (East High) finished with a double-double scoring 34 points and 12 rebounds including the game winning shot to defeat Buffalo Park School in overtime

Girls Indoor Track & Field: Ava Jolley (North Salem) set a PR and finishes 2 miles in 10:46.85 at the 25th New balance games

Boys Ice Hockey: Declan Lavelle (Rye) scored a hat-trick at the Ice Hutch in Mount Vernon last Tuesday that led Rye to a 4-2 victory against Pelham

Boys Swimming & Diving: Trent Makowiec (Addison) placed first overall in the John Beecher Invitational meet with a score of 618.95. Trent broke the school record, the pool record, the meet record and is the second highest scoring diver in the state so far this season
