Hall of Fame
Eileen Troy is one of the most successful and reliable administrators in the state having served schools in Section 2, various committees and the board of Section 2, and has served NYSPHSAA as President, State Coordinator and numerous committees for more than three decades. She got her start in NYS as a teacher and coach in 1978 at Greenwich Central School before becoming the district Athletic Director in 1987. She served the district for 32 years which included stints as the varsity girls basketball coach, varsity softball coach, and varsity field hockey coach. With NYSPHSAA, Troy was the President from 2012-14 and was Girls Basketball State Chair from 2001-11 while directing the State Tournament for those 12 years. She is in her 22nd year serving as a member of the NYSPHSAA Championship Advisory Committee and spent 31 years on the NYSPHSAA Executive Committee. For Section 2, the Granville Central School graduate was President from 2009-11 and served on the Section Constitution Committee, OCF/Negotiations Committee, Sportsmanship Committee, Merger Committee, and was the Section 2 Girls Basketball and Softball Coordinator for many years. Eileen held the position as the Section 2 Female Representative of Athletics to the Athletic Association for 23 years. Troy was also a successful coach while at Greenwich capturing a NYSPHSAA State Championship in 2003, nine Section Championships, and eight League titles as a softball coach. She was named Softball Coach of the Year by the Saratogian and Post Star twice, and Basketball Coach of the Year twice by the same outlets. Coach Troy was recognized as NYSSCOGS/NYSSWA Class C Softball Coach of the Year in 2003 and The New York State Basketball Coaches Association Section 2 Girls Basketball Coach of the Year in 1994. Troy has been inducted into the New York State Softball Hall of Fame, Greenwich High School Hall of Fame and Midland College Warrior Hall of Fame where she was named 1976 Female Athlete of the Year. At Midland, she earned her Bachelors of Arts degree then went onto Castleton State College to earn a Masters of Arts and Administrative Supervisor degrees.
