Gary Montalto has coached Arlington High School’s boys varsity soccer team since 1979. During his 30-year tenure, he led his team to three NYSPHSAA state championships (1984, 1999, 2006). In 2006, his team finished with an undefeated record of 25-0. Montalto ranks as one of the top five winningest soccer coaches in New York State. His coaching career began at Arlington Junior High in 1975 where he coached girls soccer, basketball and track. He also began teaching full-time at Titusville Elementary School in the fall of 1976. Montalto has been a member of the National Soccer Coaches Association of America for approximately 30 years and was named the 2006 National High School Soccer Coach of the Year by the NSCAA.
