Hall of Fame
Karen Lopez, a graduate of Saranac Central (Section VII) and SUNY Cortland, served as the Section VII Executive Director from 2007-2016 and was previously the Director of Health, Physical Education and Athletics at Ausable Valley Central Schools (Section VII) from 1999-2007. Lopez was NYSPHSAA President from 1992-94 and a member of numerous NYSPHSAA Committees. In Section VII she was Mountain and Valley Conference League chair for 12 years and coached soccer, basketball, volleyball and softball. She is a recipient of the New York State Athletic Administrators (NYSAAA) Chapter VII Distinguished Service Award and Ray Holmes Physical Education Award.
