Mira Martincich, who received degrees from Queens College (Bachelors), West Chester (Masters), and St. Johns (Doctoral), was a teacher (1979-87), Assistant Principal (1987-89), and the Director of Physical Education, Athletics and Recreation at Roslyn Public Schools in Section VIII from 1989-2009. Martincich has served on the NYSPHSAA Modified Committee since 1987 and was also President of Section VIII Athletic Council as well as President of Section VIII High School Athletic Association. Over two decades she coached field hockey, lacrosse, soccer, softball and volleyball, and officiated in three of those sports from 1974-77. Martincich is a recipient of the NYSAAA Administrator of the Year Award for Section VIII, the NYSAAA Apple Appreciation Award, and the NYSAHPERD Council of Administrators Physical Education Director of the Year Award.
