Latham, NY- Universal Tennis and the New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA) have announced the renewal of their multi-year partnership aimed at upgrading tennis for nearly 20,000 high school student-athletes and coaches in New York State.

“Universal Tennis has been a useful platform and great addition to NYSPHSAA Tennis particularly for our individual state tournaments,” said Dr. Robert Zayas, NYSPHSAA Executive Director.  “We are excited to continue to utilize Universal Tennis’ technology and efficiently record results for tennis student-athletes throughout the state. Thank you to Universal Tennis for supporting our student-athletes.”

After using Verified UTR Ratings for the last two boys and girls state individual tournaments, NYSPHSAA will continue to utilize UTR ratings to seed their individual tournaments. Section tournaments can also utilize the same technology to rate their events.

Overall, Universal Tennis provides a platform for student-athletes to record their scores and apply them to their Verified UTR Rating. Schools, coaches, or athletes can manually enter their scores into the system at no cost.

Outside of New York, student-athletes can see where they rank among their fellow tennis student-athletes and professionals. Schools may also take advantage of advanced analytics on players and teams around the country.

The partnership continues this fall and is one of many partnerships Universal Tennis has with other state associations around the country.
