By: Laura Levitus, NYSPHSAA Summer 2024 Intern
Laura Levitus, a former student-athlete at Cohoes High School (Section 2), will be the New York State Public High School Athletic Association’s summer intern. She was a star player for both the soccer and lacrosse teams at Cohoes as a captain and goalkeeper for the soccer team and played defense for the lacrosse team.
After graduating high school, Levitus attended SUNY Adirondack where she was a two-year captain for the women’s soccer team and earned her associate degree in business and entrepreneurship. She then attended and recently graduated from SUNY Cortland with a Bachelor of Science degree majoring in sport management, earning Dean’s List honors twice. During her time at Cortland, she participated in numerous activities including the intramural sport league and the Women in Sport Management club.
“I am very excited to be part of the NYSPHSAA team this summer,” said Levitus. “Growing up around sports, I always knew I wanted to be involved in the sports industry as part of my career. I know this association will give me many opportunities to grow and learn as I begin this next phase of my career.”
Levitus will spend her summer learning in the NYSPHSAA offices in Latham, NY while being on-site at the Girls Golf championship, Boys Lacrosse East Semifinals and Baseball campionships.
Welcome, Laura!
