The New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA) is set to host the 2025 Field Hockey State Championships on Saturday, November 15th through Sunday, November 16th at Arlington High School (Section I). Arlington won the bid to host the event from 2024-26.
“Arlington did a superb job in 2024 in its first year hosting this event so we are expecting another great tournament at this venue,” said Bev Hooper, NYSPHSAA Field Hockey State Coordinator. “Once again, it’s a great field of returning powerhouses and some new teams who have never gone this far.”
Among the returning powerhouses is Whitney Point High School (Section IV) who has won and incredible nine of the last ten Class C State Championships.
In Class A, Mamaroneck High School (Section I) returns for the 3rd straight year; they took home the Class A title in 2004, 2014, 2015, 2023 and 2024. Sachem East High School (Section XI) returns to the field of Class A teams as well. They won their last state title in 2012 and have qualified for the state tournament seven times since 2011.
In Class B, Vestal High School (IV) looks to win their 3rd championship in the last 4 years while along perennial power, Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake High School (Section 2), looks to win their 2nd straight Class B state title. Garden City High School (Section VIII), Runner Up in 2021 and 2022, seeks to win its first championship since 2018 while Rondout Valley High School (Section IX) returns for the 2nd straight year.
Qualifiers who round out the field this year and still seeking their first championship are Akron High School (Section VI), Bayport-Blue Point (Section XI), Windsor High School (Section IV), Fairport (Section V) and Pittsford Mendon (Section V).
Tickets are $13.60 (includes all fees) each day and are valid for the entire day of games on both fields at Arlington. Gates open one hour before the start of the first game each day. The event will be streamed on the NFHS Network, the official broadcasting partner of the NYSPHSAA State Championships.
