The New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA) is set to host the 2025 Boys and Girls Cross Country State Championships, presented by Taco Bell, on November 15th at Queensbury High School (Section 2) in Queensbury, New York. This is the second time that Queensbury has hosted this event since 2005 and will host it through 2029.  

The event will see four classes of competition on both the boy’s and girl’s sides with nearly 1,200 total student-athletes participating. Ten races will be conducted starting at 9:00 am with the Girls Class B race then awards will follow each race at in the high school gymnasium. Awards for the top 20 individual place finishers and the top three teams will be presented for each race.  

“The state association and state committee thanks Queensbury for hosting the 74th running of the NYSPHSAA Cross Country Championships,” said Marbry Gansle, NYSPHSAA Girls State Coordinator. “This is the 3rd time since 2004 that Queensbury has hosted this great event for high schools in New York State. It brings together best teams and individuals of the 11 sections in a one-day meet. Section 2 provides a beautiful venue and setting that all athletes and fans can enjoy.” 

The Queensbury course, which resides entirely on the school’s campus, consists of challenging hills, open fields, and wooded trails. Wooded trails are solid, hills are covered in stone dust, and the open fields are grass. A course map and walkthrough can be found on the nysphsaa.org website under the cross country tab.  

In 2024, the boys saw Monroe Woodbury (Section IX), Manhasset (Section VIII), East Aurora (Section VI), and Port Jefferson (Section XI) take home team state championships. On the girl’s side, Bethlehem (Section 2), Tappan Zee (Section I), East Aurora (Section VI), and Mount Academy (Section IX) won team state championships.         

Individual tickets are only available online and can be purchased at https://gofan.co/app/school/NYSPHSAA. Prices are $13.60 per person (not by vehicle) which covers the entire day of competition. The event will be streamed on the NFHS Network via MileSplit, the official broadcasting partner of the NYSPHSAA State Championships.
