The New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA) is set to host the 2025 Girls Swimming and Diving State Championships for the fourth consecutive year at Webster Aquatic Center on Ridge Road in Webster, NY (Section V) on Friday, November 21 and Saturday, November 22.

The state meet will draw approximately 400 student-athletes from around the state to compete in a two-day event beginning at 10:00 AM on Friday with swimming preliminaries. Following swimming preliminaries, the diving championships will begin at 1:30 pm with 11 dives. On Saturday, doors will open at 9:00 AM and the swimming finals kick off at 10:00 AM.

Webster has hosted this event since 2022 and is in the first year of a new three-year bid term through 2027. The girls swimming and diving state championships have been held at several venues across the state over the years including Erie Community College, Ithaca College, and Nassau County Aquatic Center on Long Island.

“The New York State Girls Swimming & Diving Championship gathers the fastest swimmers and the highest scoring divers from across New York State to compete in a single meet,” said Diane Hicks-Hughes, NYSPHSAA Girls Swimming and Diving State Coordinator. “Additionally, we concurrently host a Federation Tournament within or State Tournament allowing athletes to prove they are truly the best throughout New York State including New York City. We are grateful to Webster for hosting our event at such a great venue.”

Webster’s pool is Olympic-length (50 meters x 20 yards) and has over 10,000 square feet of deck space. In addition to a full Colorado System timing model in place, the facility recently added a 32’x14’ LED video board. It is one of the largest video boards at a natatorium in the state, along with numerous new cameras and a state-of-the-art sound system.

Two-time 2024 champions Vivienne Zangaro of Long Beach (Section VIII) and Sarah Lucca of Hauppauge-Smithtown (Section XI) return to the meet, along with Fayth Goodspeed of Niskayuna (Section 2), the 2024 100-yard Breaststroke winner. Lucca captured titles in both the 50 Freestyle and 100-yard Butterfly last year. Her sister, Julia Lucca, finished a close second in the 50 Freestyle and has also qualified for the 2025 meet.

The Hauppauge-Smithtown (Section XI) relay team showcased its depth in 2024, winning both the 200 Medley Relay and 200 Freestyle Relay. The squad has qualified again for this year’s state meet and is aiming to secure another state title.

Tickets are only available online and can be purchased at nysphsaa.org. Tickets are $13.60 per person including all fees. Diving (Friday) and the Swimming Finals (Saturday) will be streamed on the NFHS Network, the official broadcasting partner of the NYSPHSA State Championships.
