The New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA) is set to host the 46th Boys Ice Hockey State Championships on March 15-16, 2025. This event will be at the LECOM Harborcenter in Buffalo, which has hosted the tournament since 2016 after over three decades in Utica.

“We are looking forward to the pinnacle of high school hockey once again at a great venue this March,” said Scott Stuart, NYSPHSAA Boys Ice Hockey State Coordinator. “Eight teams will converge on the Harborcenter and try to win that coveted state title. Competition is always good and we know the Harborcenter and host hotel, connected to the rink, will do another incredible job and provide a great experience for student-athletes.”

In 2024, Suffern (I) defeated Orchard Park (VI) 6-2 in the Division 1 Finals while Skaneateles (III) triumphed over Queensbury/Lake George (2) 5-1 in the Division 2 Finals.  Skaneateles (III) also won the Division 2 Final in 2023 over Pelham (I) by a 4-1 score.

Suffern, Skaneateles, and Queensbury/Lake George will return in 2025 to compete in their respective division. Skaneateles is aiming to win its third straight state title, a feat no team has every accomplished in the history of the NYSPHSAA State Tournament. Suffern, meanwhile, has played in four straight state finals and has won two titles (2024, 2022).

Four teams in two divisions have qualified from seven of the 11 member sections to compete in a two-day tournament. The puck drops at 9:00 am Saturday for the first game. The tournament schedule can be found on the Championship landing page.

Tickets can be purchased ONLY online on GoFan. The cost is $12 each (includes fees).

The event will be streamed on the NFHS Network, the official broadcasting partner of the NYSPHSAA State Championships.
