Mill Creek Golf Club in Churchville will once again host the New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA) Boys Golf State Championship from Sunday, June 7 through Monday, June 8.  This is the second year of a three-year bid for Mill Creek to host.

There will be 99 of the top high school golfers from across the state competing for an individual title. The tournament begins with a practice round on Saturday, followed by round one on Sunday with tee times starting at 9:00 AM then concludes with the final round on Monday beginning at 7:30 AM.

“This is our second year at Mill Creek Golf Club, and we’re excited to return after hosting an excellent tournament there last year.” said Tom Gladd, NYSPHSAA Boys Golf State Coordinator. “With a great staff at the club, a hands-on state committee and a very involved RDGA (Rochester District Golf Association), it will be another great event on a great course.  The course itself presents a significant challenge, but with the right strategy and execution, there’s a great opportunity for success. It’s a beautiful and enjoyable golf course, and I’m looking forward to returning to this great venue.”

Mill Creek sits on the highest point in Monroe County with great views of Rochester and the Finger Lakes. The 18-hole championship course has rolling hills, creeks, and waterfalls, making it a tough test for top golfers.

The 2025 champion was Jackson Saroney (Jamesville-Dewitt, Section III), who was the first Section III golfer to claim a title since 2013. Entering the final round, Saroney had a one stroke lead, and ended up recording a 10 under par.

Following Saroney, CJ Strong (CBA Albany, Section 2) was the 2025 runner up while Joe Carey (Yorktown, Section I) was third and Josh Yan (Newburgh, Section IX) fourth.

Of the top four finishers in 2025, Carey, currently a junior, and Yan, a senior, are the only returning players as Saroney and Strong graduated in 2025. Among the top ten finishers from 2025 also returning to the field this year are Tanner LaTorre of Ichabod Crane Central School District (Section II), Zach Berger of Westhampton Beach High School (Section XI), and Akash Agarwal of Friends Academy (Section VIII).

With a mix of seasoned veterans, eager newcomers, the 2026 NYSPHSAA Boys Golf Championship promises plenty of excitement and compelling storylines.

The event is free and open to the public.
