The New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA) is set to host the Boys Tennis Team State Championship on Friday, June 12 at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center for the sixth straight year. The event itself began in 2021—the first year the Tennis Center hosted the event.
Ten teams will compete in a two-division format, featuring semifinal matches in the morning followed by championship finals in the afternoon.
Division 2 team check-in will begin at 7:30 AM, with semifinal competition commencing at 8:00 AM. Division 1 team check-in will follow at 9:15 AM, with semifinal matches scheduled to begin at 9:30 AM.
The Division 2 Championship Final is scheduled for 1:00 PM, followed by the Division 1 Championship Final at 3:00 PM.
Approximately 100 student-athletes will participate in the event from NYSPHSAA member schools
“With returning champions, experienced contenders, and new teams looking to make their mark, we anticipate a day filled with outstanding competition, sportsmanship, and memorable moments as we crown our Division 1 and Division 2 state champions,” State Coordinator Michael Scaturro stated.
In 2025, Syosset (Section VIII) continued its dominance on the state stage, capturing its third consecutive Division 1 New York State Team Tennis Championship. In Division 2, Friends Academy (Section VIII) made program history by claiming its first-ever New York State Team Tennis Championship, marking a milestone achievement for the school and its tennis program.
This year Pittsford Mendon (Section V), and former Division 1 champions Syosset (Section VIII) will be returning for a second straight year. Rounding out the field, for Division 1 returners are Bethlehem (Section 2) and Washingtonville (Section IX).
For Division 2, 2025 state champions Friends Academy (Section VIII) will not be returning this year as they didn’t make the tournament. However, Glens Falls (Section 2) and Byram Hills (Section I) will be returning. Byram Hills fell short to Friends Academy (Section VIII) last year in a close final round 3-2. This year they are seeking to advance to the final round and win that title.
The event is free and open to the public. More information on this year’s event can be found at
