The Championship Advisory Committee, formerly known as the Intersectional Advisory Committee until 1988, is a standing committee of the NYSPHSAA. The purpose of the CAC is to receive proposals and make recommendations that relate to the structure, management, conduct, and participation of NYSPHSAA sponsored sports tournaments as well as the state tournament Officials Fees/Policies. CAC feedback and recommendations are provided to the NYSPHSAA Executive/Central Committee for consideration before approval.
CAC Members are appointed by the NYSPHSAA President and serve a term of 4 years, with reappointment possible (10/97). The CAC is comprised of 11 members:
> 7 at-large appointees
> 1 representative of team sports (1/99)
> 1 representative of individual sports (1/99)
> 1 representative of member school superintendents (11/01)
> 1 representative from the Section Executive Directors (5/09)
