The NYSPHSAA Hall of Fame is organized as a means of recognizing, preserving, and promoting the heritage of interscholastic sports in New York State. Many individuals have made extraordinary contributions and have had superb accomplishments in high school sports. The NYSPHSAA Hall of Fame honors the contributions and accomplishments of these individuals who are worthy of statewide recognition.

NYSPHSAA Hall of Fame Nominations
We are currently accepting nominations for the Class of 2026. The deadline to submit for this class is January 29, 2026.
Nominees for Future Consideration
Nominees must be 35 years old to be eligible for induction into the NYSPHSAA Hall of Fame. In an effort to keep track of our outstanding athletes that may not yet be eligible, a form has been created to nominate candidates for future consideration. This form has no deadline and forms may be submitted at any time. The nominator and local section will be notified upon the nominee reaching the age of eligibility.
Criteria for Nomination:
Nominees must exemplify the highest standards of sportsmanship, ethical conduct, and moral character.
The categories of athlete, coach, contest official, administrator, and related contributor are included on the nomination form for expediency in understanding the primary area in which an individual is to be considered for his or her achievements in interscholastic athletics.
All candidates for the NYSPHSAA Hall of Fame must be at least 35 years of age prior to January 29th of the applicable year in order to be considered for induction. All nominees will be judged on their significant and/or long term achievements, merits, and contributions to interscholastic athletics when determining credentials for the Hall of Fame.
Candidates whose careers ended 50 or more years ago or are deceased will be considered against the accomplishments of their contemporaries as much as possible. In this case, it is imperative to provide strong additional support material such as letters from individuals who had some involvement with the nominee.
While many have served their section and local programs over a long and distinguished career, their accomplishments must have been worthy of statewide recognition for them to be considered. Longevity, without meaningful statewide impact, does not constitute appropriate credentials for NYSPHSAA Hall of Fame consideration.
To nominate someone for the NYSPHSAA Hall of Fame, use the NOMINATION FORM.
To submit additional materials to enhance an existing nomination, submit a NOMINATION ENHANCEMENT.
To nominate an athlete that is not yet 35 years old for future consideration, submit a FUTURE CONSIDERATION FORM.
